God’s timing is always perfect. Therefore we must align ourselves on the path that he has set for us. Of course with free will we can choose do things our way or God's way. However , the problem with doing things your way is that you become misaligned from his purpose and plans for your life. Additionally the path you may set for your self may lead to death. Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."
One main issue plaguing believers is instant gratification. It has caused one to seek other means of obtaining what they desire. Yet Jesus declares "seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness all these other things will be added". Thus when we seek after things or try to go ahead of God, we get the things we desire but become redirected away from God.
Understand God knows your heart desires but he also has a plan for you that is greater than what you can imagine. Let God be God and trust in his timing, for it is always perfect.
